we talk abt how Tiana as the first black disney princess was a frog for most of the film but we dont really talk abt how the villain in that movie was a poor black voodoo practicioner who was shown in the beginning of the movie doing parlor tricks on the street for pocket change and one of the victims of his evil schemes was a bumbling pushover sympathetic white millionaire whos referred to as a “cotton king” in one of the opening songs and also this movie takes place in the fucking jim crowe south

their love is literally the ‘i was lost until I found you’ kinda love. and all the flirting all the teasing through the whole movie is just ☺️.
oh and don’t get me started on how they’re literally the pining idiot + oblivious bastard.
the song with mama odie, how naveen realizes he’s in love, just looking at her being happy and laughing and the fond look and everything. tiana and naveen literally invented love.

i can relate! growing up as a disney kid and seeing all these sequels and remakes being made (eg lion king and aladdin) bring so much nostalgia!!! like watching the FIRST SCREENING of incredibles 2 made me feel like a kid again and watching remakes and pointing out similar scenes makes me feel like a disney expert!!!
